Description

Early 2005, international brewer InBev had announced cost-cutting measures throughout the world. Belgium will also be affected by the measures as the company announced early December that 232 employees will lose their job in Belgium. According to John Brock, CEO of InBev, Belgium has too many breweries. Inbev will thus transfer the production of its Hoegarden brewery to Jupille. Bottling will still remain in the Hoegaarden site. Other services, such as marketing, sales and transportation will be affected by the measures. Following the announcement, workers at hoegaarden started a strike.
