Description

ABB will move its plant from Laxå to Västerås. The reason put forward for this plan is the high competition level in the global robot industry. Some 75% of the 107 workers concerned will be offered a new job in Västerås. ABB stated it hoped to increase its competitivenes through improved capacity use and simplified administation and logistics processes. Negotiations with trade unions have already started. According to the schedule, the relocation plan could be achieved before summer 2006.
