Description
The food processing company Danish Crown will close its bacon factory in Odense by the end of February 2006 and a department in Holbæk by the end of March 2006. This will affect approximately 1,000 employees of which 840 work in Odense, the rest in Holbæk. It is not known precisely how many will be made redundant but the management informs that it will not be realistic to find work for all implicated employees. The employees will be offered jobs in the factories in Fåborg, Ringsted and Horsens. The reason for the closure is an expected decline in bacon production for 2006.
