Description
The ACC group is a leading manufacturer of motors and compressors for household appliances. It currently has some 7,000 employees and ten plants in Europe and China. It was established in 2002, when the Electrolux Zanussi group outsourced the production of motors for its household products. In 2003, the ACC group also acquired the plants producing fridge compressors from the Electrolux Zanussi group. The ACC group announced the reorganisation of its compressor division. The restructuring plan envisages the closure of the Rovigo plant, which employs around 400 workers, and 200 redundancies at the Mel plant. The unions have immediately called a strike to oppose the company decision.
