Description
Timişoara (Vest region, Timiş county) saw the opening of a new production line at the Solectron factory, following a cooperation with Ericsson. The value of the total investment was not revealed. The general manager of Solectron said only that following the investment the company would see its employees' number increase by around 100 and that turnover is expected to increase by 15-20% in the next fiscal year. The new production line will manufacture Ericsson's top-of-the-line telephone exchanges for the Romanian telecommunication company RomTelecom.
‘This investment confirms the interest the global market of electronic and telecommunication has in the factory in Timisoara. The growth we are expecting will be due not only to Ericsson's investment, but also to other investments made recently in the factory in Timisoara', the general manager of Solectron said.
