Description

St George's Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital of the same name in Tooting, is cutting 300 jobs at an NHS hospital as part of an attempt to cut its £21.7 million debt by almost half. The trust said the cuts will be mainly in non-clinical areas and that most losses will be among expensive agency staff. Any redundancies in clinical posts will be made possible by reducing the time patients spend in hospital, therefore reducing the need for staff, it added.
