Description
The Walkers crisp factory in Swansea is to close after 50 years at the south Wales site. All 250 workers will lose their jobs, but will be offered alternative posts at the PepsiCo's other UK plants. Production of Monster Munch, Wotsits and other snacks will switch to factories at Peterlee and Coventry. Walkers president Martin Glenn said the shift would move production closer to distribution sites. He said the snack market was an 'increasingly competitive environment'.
