Description

Approximately 150 workers have been told that they are to lose their jobs at American multinational food ingredients firm, ADM, based in County Cork. ADM makes citric acid for the soft drinks and food industry. The ADM managing director said the decision to cease manufacturing was due to intense competition in world citric acid markets in recent years. The company was facing intense competition from lower cost citric acid producers in China.
