Description
The DaimlerChrysler Group intends to extend the gear-box manufacturing factory in Cugir (Central region, Alba county). The group has been operational in Romania since 2001, when it set up the joint company Star Transmission in Cugir, manufacturer of cogged wheels and car parts for Mercedes Benz and the European car industry.
The new investment in Star Transmission will involve a tripling of the personnel, up to 1,000 employees, compared to the current 300. The local administration will provide about 4 hectares of land currently lying waste, part of Cugir industrial park.
