European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The textile giant Mura, from Prekmurje has played a vital employement role in the North East Slovene region and several restructuring plans supported by local and national governments, have been under way since mid 1990's. 230 job losses (through early retirements, voluntary leaves and other soft measures) are to be expected by the end of 2005, followed by further downsizing in 2006. Management aims at developing a EU-recognized fashion clothing trademark and subsequently selling at more profitable prices.
