Description
OTAVAN TÅ™eboň, a traditional clothing producer will close its plants in DaÄice and Jemnice by the end of November 2005. About 220 people (especially women) will lose their jobs. Some seamstresses (about 30%) are being offered the chance to work in a near-by plant in Slavonice. The company has been undergoing a substantial work force reduction from 1,500 workers in 2002 to the current staff of 600 employees due to the competition pressure from China.
