European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Based in Meppel, Agrifirm is one of the country's largest cooperatives. Agrifirm mediates in the purchase and sale of milk quotas and fertiliser production rights, and stimulates the automation of the Dutch agricultural sector. The cooperative employs 1,400 people. Agrifirm will close the sites in Emmen en Koudekerk. Temporary contracts will not be renewed and direct dismissals are not excluded. A social plan has still to be negotiated.
