Description

Dutch transport company Vos Logistics will cut 102 jobs in its locations in Veendam (Groningen) and in Nuth (Limburg).According to Maino Remmers, director of human resource management of Vos Logistics, the job cuts are attributed to the unfavourable economic developments in the market. The company will stop transportation of hazardous materials in the region of Nuth, which will result in job cuts. In that location, the company will continue to operate a silo complex. A total of 26 employees, including drivers and workers in the storage halls in Veendam, will be laid off in the Veendam location. Vos Logistics employs some 2,800 in the Netherlands. The company and the trade unions have signed an agreement in principle about a social plan for employees who will lose their jobs under restructuring measures. The social plan will concern the redundant employees, working at the company's branches in Nuth, Surhuisterveen and Veendam, as well as possible future restructurings at other company units.
