Description
According to the 2004-2010 national strategy for the restructuring of the Romanian iron steel industry, Mechel Câmpia Turzii (Nord-Vest region, Cluj county) will decrease its workforce by 500 in 2005. By 2010, employment figures at Mechel Câmpia Turzii will fall down to 4,500 jobs, starting from 5,300 in 2004.
Mechel Câmpia Turzii produces rolled products in carbon and low-alloy steel for machinery manufacturers, as well as steel rebar, wire rod and hardware, including various kinds of wire, cable, mesh, electrical cable and nails.
