Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The governor of Carinthia, Jörg Haider, and the CEO of Magna Steyr, Siegfried Wolf, announced at a joint press conference held on 14 June 2005 that a new Magna site will be built in Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia. Magna Steyr is Austria's largest company in the automotive supplier industry, employing some 11,000 workers at 20 plants. The construction of the new production premises will start in spring 2006 and be finished in the course of 2007, when in between 150 and 200 additional workers are planned to be hired. The plant will be specialised in the production of electronic equipment for motor vehicles, in particular of that related to the electronic steering of seats and outside rear-view mirrors.
