Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Accenture, which operates in Slovakia since 1992 started with providing outsourcing services for Slovnaft oil refinery in 2002. Currently the subsidiary has five global clients. According to Accenture Slovakia CEO, available qualified labour force with good language skill were decisive when deciding to choose Bratislava as a location for their new business centre. On 7 December 2005, management announced that the subsidiary doubled its staff in Bratislava in November 2005 and some further job creations is foreseen there. According to the director of Slovak subsidiary, Peter Škodný, considering the increasing demand for services provided by the subsidiary in Slovakia, there is a good perspective to employ more people. However, local labour market in not always able to offer enough qualified professionals required for these high quality services.
