European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Dickins and Jones store in Regent Street London is to close with the loss of 500 jobs. The House of Fraser which owns the store said that it needed to cut costs in the face of a steep downturn in consumer spending. The hope is that many of the staff can be redeployed in the group's other stores.
