On 25 June 2005, the Superior Council of Magistrates (Consiliul Superior al Magistraturii, CSM), through the National Magistrates’ Court Institute (Institutul National al Magistraturii, INM), will organise a national-level admission examination, to recruit 258 judges and 40 prosecutors for court of law prosecutor’s offices.
The targeted candidates are law faculty graduates with a minimum five year experience in legal activities.
In Romania, the Superior Council of Magistrates is the highest body and sole representative of judicial power, whose independence was strengthened by the Constitution adopted in 2003, which stipulates that it will act as ‘guarantor of the independence of justice’.
