European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Management of Huta Królewska explained the need for jobcuts as a result of low demand for its products. The dismissals procedure began in June 2005. Due to negotiations with trade unions, the number of dismissed was reduced from planned 142 to 114. Laid off workers are excluded from social package, that was negotiated during privatisation process of Polish Ironworks, as Królewska is only a subsidiary company of Mittal Steel Poland (former Polish Ironworks).
