Description
Uniq, the convenience foods group is cutting 300 jobs as part of a strategic rethink prompted by troubles at its UK business. Uniq employs 4,000 people in the UK and 5,000 staff on the continent and makes sandwiches, salads and ready meals for stores including Marks & Spencer. The company said the job losses were part of a plan to cut costs by more than £20 million a year. Around 100 jobs will go in Britain, the rest in northern Europe. Many of the UK cuts will take place at Uniq's head office in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire.
