Description

Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte, a joint venture of Bosch and Siemens and manufacturer of household appliances, has announced the closure of its washing machine plant in Berlin-Spandau. Weak demand for washing machines and strong competition has put pressure on prices and thus makes restructuring necessary. Production will be relocated to a plant in Brandenburg that also suffers from over-capacity. The management will enter negotiations with employees' representatives and work on a redundancy program, as announced in a press release.
