Description
The Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket) will restructure 9 transit, asylum and protection centres. The reason for this decision is the decrease in the number of asylum seekers in Sweden. According to the projections, some 19,000 people may seek refugee status in Sweden in 2005, compared to 23,000 in 2004 and 31,000 in 2003. Some 270 workers will be affected by this plan, which is expected to be achieved on 1 July 2005.
