Description
The closure of the Grampian Country Foods factory in Buckie is to result in 330 workers losing their jobs. However at the same time the company indicated that a £16 million redevelopment of its site at Broxburn near Edinburgh, will create 200 jobs. Its expansion in Broxburn will increase the workforce to 1,060 and increase production of bacon, sausages, haggis and other pork products. The company intends to relocate the pork processing operations at Buckie, Morayshire, and part of the sausage manufacturing operations at Elmswell in Suffolk to Broxburn.
