European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
More than 620 staff at the Gadget Shop were braced for redundancy after two bidders for the retailer walked away from a deal. PKF, which became the administrator of the collapsed chain in March 2005, said the potential buyers were concerned about retail spending and the supply of stock. The remaining 45 Gadget Shop outlets will shut before the end of May 2005, suffering the same fate as 10 that were closed by PKF in March 2005.
