Description
More than 100 workers at a Marks & Spencer buying facility in County Londonderry are to lose their jobs, the company has announced. A M&S spokeswoman said the operation in Claudy was no longer viable because in future all garments would be bought through a central department in London. The company has said its operation in the town will close in December 2005. Marks & Spencer chief executive Stuart Rose said consultation on redundancies had already begun with the 108 staff.
