Description
Sabca, the aeronautics company, has announced a new restructuring plan on 15 March 2005.
84 employees on the site of Gosselies are affected by the measures that will come into effect on 1 July 2005. 49 workers are to leave the company, other employees will benefit from early retirement measures (35) or relocation. The restructuring plan has been negotiated with the unions and accepted following a vote. The reason evoked for this restructuring is the decrease of contracts related to the defence sector. Worries remain for the future of the 270 employees of the site, as maintenance contracts come to an end and the defence budget of Belgium is being reduced.
