Description
Works council sources reported that Mahle, the automotive component manufacturer, is planning to cut 615 jobs at its Alzenau, Lorch, Markgroningen and Ohringen sites. This announcement comes as a part of a package of planned cost-saving measures, through which the company aims to achieve a return on capital of 17%. Further possible steps under negotiation are reported to be reductions in salaries and bonuses and the scrapping of additional pay for overtime. Mahle counts around 35,000 employees altogether, including 9,000 in Germany.
