European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Balterio, the parquet floor producer, announced on 16 February 2005 it will close its factory in Alost and relocate the whole production to the Vielsalm site. The Flemish group explained that strong competition is influencing the market and urges the need to develop and produce new concepts in a faster way within an integrated unit. Following this announcement, 26 jobs will be lost in Alost and 145 new jobs will be created in Vielsalm.
