European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Iar Siltal is an Italian company specialised in the manufacture of domestic electrical appliances such as freezers. The company is based in Montcada i Reixac ( Barcelona, Catalonien) and was formerly owned by Corberó. Due to financial reasons, management has decided the closure of its production centre, creating 425 redundancies. In the following weeks the job reduction plan will be presented to the regional authorities. No agreement has been appointed yet between labour representatives and management although the decision was not a surprise.
