European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Sanofi-Aventis Group, the world's 3rd largest pharmaceutical company, has announced its intention to cut 331 medical representatives positions around France. This announcement comes as the first restructuring measure in the country since the Sanofi-Synthélabo-Aventis merger in August. The programme doesn't notify which specific divisions will be affected. Early retirement measures will be first taken as more than 10% of the employees are over 55. Unions are currently worried about the next measures to be announced.
