European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
In addition to the 3,500 redundancies announced in January 2004, the French railway company SNCF, has announced another measure of restructuring affecting 400 jobs on the freight division in the Lorraine Region. Reasons are the decrease of activity on a national level. Half of these employees will benefit from early retirement measures or be relocated in others units.
