Description

Marklin, the German manufacturer of model railway sets, intends to cut up to 400 jobs, according to trade union IG Metall. A spokesperson for the union said yesterday that the company, which employs 1,161 people at its head office in Goppingen, is planning to reduce costs by 15%. A spokesperson for Marklin refused to reveal details of management's negotiations with the union and the works council, but admitted that his group has to reduce costs.
