European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
A spokesperson confirmed that around 170 of the 2,100 jobs at the Dutch mobile division of KPN are expected to go by the beginning of 2005. The move is a result of tough competition in the mobile market. Around half the job cuts are a result of the introduction of newer technology at a customer service centre in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. Direct dismissals are expected to amount to less than 30.
