Description

Home care provider Icare plans to cut 240 jobs under a restructuring programme, it was reported on 13 September 2004. The restructuring will affect mainly the maternity care, due to the expected decrease in births. The organisation will announce its final decision on the restructuring in October 2004, after negotiations with the trade unions. The restructuring programme is expected to save €16 million ($19.6 million) per year. Icare’s annual budget stands at €225 million ($276 million). The move also aims at increasing Icare’s competitiveness. The organisation also plans to create some 110 jobs in the future. Icare is the largest home care provider in the Netherlands.
