European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Ahold Group is specialised in the distribution sector. The company has decided the closure of 5 supermarkets in the Province of Cordoba. The five supermarkets where located in the towns of Palma, Palma del Río, two of them in Puente Genil and the last one in Lucena, all in the province of Cordoba (Spain). The measure will cut 100 jobs. The closure of the supermarkets had been announced by the regional UGT union's representative in the Sector of Hotels and Tourism, Mr. Antonio Vacas.
