Description
The German arm of British-American Tobacco Industries (BAT) is planning to cut 125 jobs in Germany by the end of 2005. The company employs around 2,000 staff in Germany. The reason for the company's decision is said to be the decline of the market for cigarettes produced in factories. Over 50 job cuts are expected at the German arm's head office in Hamburg, which currently employs about 500 staff.
