European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The planned incorporation of Polfa Tarchomin, a pharmaceuticals manufacturer, within the Polski Holding Farmaceutyczny group will result in a restructuring plan devised to reduce the company's costs. To this end, Polfa Tarchomin has been selling off some of its assets. Another component of the restructuring plan involves the reducing of the company’s workforce, from 2,100 to 1,900 (i.e. 200 redundancies) by the end of 2004.
