Description
It is estimated that the Polish National Sugar Company has a production overcapacity of about 40%. In order to return to profitability, a restructuring programme has been set up. It involves the closure of 4 of the 22 production sites of the company: Borowiczki, Sokołów, Żnin, Klemensów. Discontinuation of production at these four sugar refineries will entail the dismissal of some 700 employees. According to the collective agreement the dismissals will start from 30 April 2006.
