Description
The German producer of heavy utility vehicles, MAN, runs two subsidiaries in Austria, one of them in Vienna. Due to a recent falling off of orders, the Viennese production site, specialised in heavy special-purpose vehicles, has been forced to curb its production during 2004. Thus, 220 of the current 870 employees will be laid off within the next weeks. They are offered the choice either to enter a re-employment scheme or to be indemnified by severance pay.
