Description

Epcos, the German maker of electronic components once owned by Siemens, plans to relocate at least 1,300 jobs to low-wage countries, said chairman Gerhard Pegam in an interview for the Financial Times Deutschland. In three to five years more than 80 percent of the 13,300 employees will be based in low-wage countries (in China in particular) and that would mean a further 1,300 jobs would be relocated (3,700 employees in Germany in 2000).
