Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Flextronics will cut 350 jobs in Sweden to face the general negative business trend and the requirements made by customers in a more competitive environment. Flextronics recorded losses of 2,6 billions SEK in 2002/2003. During the autumn 2003, Flextronics injected 2,3 billions SEK in its Swedish subsidiary to save it. In recent years, Flextronics has implemented important redundancy plans in Sweden, i.e. in Vaggeryd, where 1,000 jobs were shed in 2001/2002, in Pajala, in LuleƄ and in Visby.
