European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Flextronics will cut 350 jobs in Sweden to face the general negative business trend and the requirements made by customers in a more competitive environment. Flextronics recorded losses of 2,6 billions SEK in 2002/2003. During the autumn 2003, Flextronics injected 2,3 billions SEK in its Swedish subsidiary to save it. In recent years, Flextronics has implemented important redundancy plans in Sweden, i.e. in Vaggeryd, where 1,000 jobs were shed in 2001/2002, in Pajala, in Luleå and in Visby.
