Wavecom, manufacturer of parts for mobile phones, is going to suppress 35% of its workforce, in order to respond to bad financial results. Last year, the groups turnover fell by 50%. 300 jobs are threatened, mostly in the United States and France. 70% of Wavecoms workforce works in France. On 10 September 2004, Wavecom announced an additional 300 redundancies, following its decision to abandon its mobile telephony activity.
