European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Wavecom, manufacturer of parts for mobile phones, is going to suppress 35% of its workforce, in order to respond to bad financial results. Last year, the group's turnover fell by 50%. 300 jobs are threatened, mostly in the United States and France. 70% of Wavecom's workforce works in France. On 10 September 2004, Wavecom announced an additional 300 redundancies, following its decision to abandon its mobile telephony activity.
