Description

In the framework of its Europewide restructuring plan and due to the stop of several activities of Procter & Gamble, the American group Colgate-Palmolive announced the suppression of 200 jobs in France. 150 jobs will be dismissed at the plant of Compiègne and 50 at the unit of Paris. The group would be considering the transfer of its head office and commercial branch in Geneva. On 1 June 2004, 107 jobs were suppressed at Compiègnes, including 33 retirements. 120 retirements were still planned, leaving the company with more retirement measures than job losses planned. Colgate-Palmolive has to hire new staff to compensate.
