European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Due to the merger between Pfizer and Pharmacia, Pfizer announced a restructuring plan for its activities in France. The research and development unit of Fresnes, employing 285 persons, should be closed by the end of 2003. Morevoer, the unit of Guyancourt should also close by the end of 2003, affecting 335 workers over 450. The 115 other workers should be transfered to the headquarter of Paris.
