European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The 'Illkirch' unit of Alcatel announced a restructuring plan linked with its reconversion from the telephony sector to the automobile supply sector.
The reconversion conducts Alcatel to reduce the manpower of the unit from 590 to 200 by the end of 2004.
The restructuring will be implemented through other job reduction measures than direct dismissals, such as natural leaves (100), voluntary early retirements (150) and other measures (190).
