European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Arcelor employes 37000 workers in France. The workers affected by the closure of the blast furnace represent half of the persons that will be retired this year. Arcelor will then not go through a social plan for the french closure. Nevertheless, many subcontractors and linked companies and workers will be affected by this plan. No estimations are made for the moment.
