European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Gallaher Group, which is based in the UK, is closing its Dublin plant following an international management review, which means that there will be a restructuring of European operations. Production will be transferred to another factory in Ballymena, Northern Ireland, which also faces 175 job losses. The union (SIPTU) has criticised the company for not consulting the workforce. Additional jobs will be lost at EU-level.
