Description
Comerama, which is located in Donegal, went into receivership, and had been in trouble for some time, a indication of the serious problems facing the clothing and textile industry in Ireland. Earlier this year, the workforce rejected an 8% pay cut, which management had proposed in a bid to save the plant.
Last December, Comerama's sister plant in Kilkenny closed with the loss of 160 jobs.
