The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sonofon made 421 full-time jobs redundant throughout 2002, mostly through outsourcing of in-house activities, due to a long crisis in the mobile telephone market. An internal discussion between the owners, American Bell South and Norwegian Telenor, lead to further lay-offs of 80 people in october 2003.
