European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Orkla Foods will reduce its staff by 1000 people, i.e. 15 % of its workforce. According to the CEO of the company, a cost-reduction plan needs to be implemented as a consequence of the increased competition, which results from the development of low-price food shops in Scandinavia and the enlargement of the EU toward Eastern Europe. 500 jobs will be cut in the Nordic countries and another 500 jobs in third countries.
